Powder Matt is hooked on Powder! Skiing has been part of his life for 40yrs! From ski racing to backcountry touring there is not a part of skiing that he does not like- in fact he will often say that spending a day in the mountains ‘Life is good when you do what you enjoy’ or refer you to his motto Eat.Sleep.Ski . He has been working in the Ski Resort business for over 20 years. He is the Senior Vice President, Resort Experience, at Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. He looks forward to your comments. Make it a Powder Day!

Areas of interest Alpine Skiing, Backcountry skiing, Sidecountry skiing in the Canadian Rockies. I hope that you take time to enjoy the 5 Alpine Bowls at Fernie Alpine Resort (Most Alpine Bowls in the Canadian Rockies) , get to experience the legendary Powder at Fernie Alpine Resort (over 30 feet in some ski seasons) and your thighs experience the burn of enjoying over 2500 acres of terrain!
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. The “Big Mountain” skiing and riding experience is at the very core of what Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is all about. The upper part of the mountain offers steep, untrammeled wilderness skiing and riding that is perhaps the most progressive in-bounds skiing in North America. The mountain consists of 1,260 metres (4,133 feet) of vertical — the fourth-highest in North America — serviced by an eight-passenger high-speed gondola, two fixed-grip quad chairlifts, a two-person chairlift and a Magic Carpet surface lift. 121 runs, four alpine bowls and 85 inbound chutes are spread across 2,800+ acres of skiable terrain.
With an impressive ski-in/ski-out village, Kicking Horse rocks après too, with fine dining and cozy pubs plus tubing, skating and meeting the resident wolves at the nearby Wolf Centre.
No stay at Kicking Horse is complete without a visit to Canada’s most elevated restaurant: Eagle’s Eye Restaurant. Guests are treated to a 15-minute gondola ride up 2,346 metres (7,700 feet) for a mountain-top, fine-dining experience. Four mountain ranges come conjoin and create a mountain panorama that’s second to none.
Don’t miss the incredible fall-line groomers at Kimberley Alpine Resort and more terrain than you think…with over 1800 acres, Kimberley Alpine Resort is bigger than Beaver Creek in Colorado. If you have not been to Nakiska Ski Resort in awhile it is time…with a new high speed quad lift- the Gold Express Chair, new snowmaking enhancements (over 40% more snow), and new ski runs! Make sure and try the new Monster Glades and the 2800 vertical of Big Mountain style skiing!
