The 2013/2014 ski season is off to an amazing start in the Canadian Rockies with record November snowfall. Ski resorts along the famed Powder Highway in British Columbia, like Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Kimberley Alpine Resort and Fernie Alpine Resort all received incredible early season snowfalls this week.

The Farmer’s Almanac winter weather predictions for last couple of years have been spot on. For the winter 2013/2014 Farmer’s Almanac is calling for significant snowfalls for the Powder Highway region of British Columbia, spanning from Fernie to Golden.
Powder Sunday at Fernie Alpine Resort
So much snow. Sunday, November 3rd, now known as ‘Powder Sunday’, saw over 80 cm fall in 24 hrs at Fernie Alpine Resort. Kicking Horse Mountain Resort saw close to 50 cm fall and Kimberley Alpine Resort received 40 plus cm in less than 12 hrs.
