A ski week to go down in history as nothing but Legendary

Deep Powder March 23rd

A Ski Week to go down in history as nothing but Legendary. Last week we celebrated 50 years of Skiing in the community of Fernie, British Columbia. It was Legendary- so much happened from the Griz providing over 80 cm of powder, to Ski Canada Magazine Test event, fireworks at Fernie Alpine Resort, a community Street Dance, panel discussion from industry veterans and experts in their field, and the Pioneer Legacy luncheon which celebrated the incredible passion of the many instrumental individuals who played key roles in the last 50 years of skiing in our community- celebrating the Builders, Pioneers and Sport leaders who each contributed so much passion, hardwork and never gave up to do their very best. Huge kudos to the 50 Years of Skiing steering committee. I would also extend a special ‘Thank you!’ to Mike Delich who contributed so much of his time and effort to make sure that this event was truly a success!

Some Powder was had by all throughout the week as we passed the 10 Meter mark in total snowfall for the year! Fernie Alpine Resort not only has the deepest snow, most vertical, most ski runs and the most Ski Heritage in the Rockies!
