The opening date for Nakiska Ski Area of November 7th 2009 is the earliest ever the ski resort located near Banff and in the Kananaskis region of Alberta, will open to the public. Making this possible is one of Canada's largest snow-making systems combined with Mother's Nature support of cool temperatures for the last 10 days. In fact this early blast of snow and cold is fitting the prediction of the Farmer's Almanac for this upcoming winter. Last night still we were still capable of running the upper mountain snow-making system and still had some intermittent snow storms roll through.
Serious Snow at Nakiska makes earliest opener in History possible!
